Ummoja Disability Center
Welcome to the Ummoja Disability Center!
The Ummoja Disability Center works with 100+ “abled-differently” individuals across various backgrounds and ages. Overseen by Wilson Kingola and his staff, the motto of the Center is “Living Beyond the Challenge.”
The Center attempts to offer services in the following areas as funding permits:
- Counseling
- Education and empowerment
- Mental health services
- Home care services
- Business club for mothers who are persons with disabilities
- Person with disabilities girl and/or youth club
- Table banking (group-based funding strategy)
- Sanitary towel distribution
- Assistive device (e.g., wheelchair, crutches) distribution
- Skills or trade training
Donations go toward providing food during their day programs as well as needed supplies to run the Center and its programs. Please consider giving to the Center and helping an “abled-differently” person live beyond their challenges.

We were fortunate enough to visit the Ummoja Disability Center in 2020 just prior to the Covid-19 pandemic. As you can imagine, the pandemic placed quite a strain on the Center. However, the dedicated staff at the Center continues to push through.
By God’s mercy, we have been able to visit the Center again since the end of the pandemic and are working to build a bigger and brighter future for all.
The needs are the same as pre-pandemic, but the urgency is greater. Your giving today will make a huge impace on their tomorrow!

How You Can Help!
The Covid-19 pandemic severely limited what the Ummoja Disability Center could accomplish. However, the staff is working hard to re-establish some programs and create new ones. Their passion for “abled differently” persons is unmatched.
Now that the pandemic is over, we want to help them sustain their programs and reach more people.
We love the fact that they teach skills and trades like doing hair, knitting or sewing, and computer skills among other things. All donations to the Ummoja Disability Center will be used to support their programs.
